Thank you for reading the #guns Charter and FAQ, and if this is your first time here, Welcome! There are a few tips and guidelines I think you should know about #guns chat that I'll go ahead and get out of the way. Thanks to those who helped put this together for me.

Tips

As a rule, you get out of chat what you put into it. If you come here with something to say, information, advice and humor, you will be met with the same. If you come in here expecting something, or an endless stream of questions and nothing to contribute, people won't want to chat with you.
If you find yourself repeatedly asking questions that don't get answered, or asking "Where is everyone?", "Helloooo?", "Anyone wanna chat?" or "Why is everyone so quiet?", people may be trying to tell you something. At least one or two people are usually awake, if but sometimes busy with other things. If the room is consistantly very quiet when you are around, this may be a clue. See Tip #1.

Guidelines

This is not a helpdesk for subguns.com or for firearms in general. Many of the subguns regulars hang out in here, so you *may* get questions answered, but no one from subguns or anywhere else is obligated to help you.
This IRC server, and this chat rooms are neither public forums nor democracies. The person who owns the server has final say on what happens here, and the regulars here have operator status and can kick you from the channel if they feel like it. We were here first, its our room; it's not our obligation to conform to your desires.
Improper or annoying questioning will likely go unanswered. If you ask how to convert your gun to full-auto, no one will answer. If you repeatedly ask stupid or annoying questions, people will probably stop answering them, and may just stop talking to you. This is not because they are evil Nazis bent on keeping you from achieving chat-happiness, it's just that this gets tiring. This is not to say people won't answer questions here, just that no one likes to deal with repeated stupid questions (and yes, there ARE stupid questions).
Traffic in this channel may (and probably is) logged by at least one person, AT ALL TIMES. If you wish to keep something private in chat, use a private message.
